Two views of the Geosphere. Those slanted things at the bottom of the pictures are the 'Leave a legacy' walls. Each panel contains photos of people etched by laser onto plates which are then affixed to the wall. We wanted to have our picture added but could not find any clear info on how to do it.
This is a hidden Mickey. Hidden Mickeys started out as inside jokes among the Walt Disney Imagineers. A Hidden Mickey is an image of Mickey Mouse concealed in the design of a Disney attraction (ride, resort, etc...). Originally, it took the shape of a head and ears silhouette i.e. one large circle with two smaller circled on top in the appropriate place, but Hidden Mickeys can take on many forms. The bowls and plates were set like this on our table at the Garden Grill Restaurant at the Land pavilion. For more info see http://www.oitc.com/Disney/ .
Here is Matthew and the
proprietors of the Garden Grill Restaurant. The restaurant is a character dining restaurant. In the hour or so we were there we were visited by these three four times. The dinner is served family style; a large skillet filled with chicken, steak, stuffing, mac 'n cheese, grilled veggies, corn on the cob. A fresh, home grown salad, mixed grain bread and strawberry shortcake rounded out the meal. All you can eat and very reasonably priced.
